Work Background

Prior to working as a freelancer full time, Collier was Senior Copywriter for EF — the largest educational tour company in the world — where he: crafted travel copy about hundreds of tour destinations around the world; wrote corporate speeches (one delivered at the United Nations, another at a Berlin Wall dedication); and managed a team of writers to create countless direct mail pieces focussed on selling the intrigue of travel. He did a stint at Rand McNally where he wrote and edited over 200 high adventure destinations throughout North America. He worked as executive editor and marketing director for Chicago-based Richardsons Publishing, producer of outdoor adventure guidebooks.

Collier also worked as Senior Copywriter for Polaris-owned Experience.com. He was hired on to help re-launch the company with an aggressive branding campaign designed to sell Fortune 500 companies a suite of college recruiting software. He created everything from a new company tagline to product-specific messaging to forward thinking white papers for this 100-person Boston start-up. Collier has also worked at advertising agencies in New York, Chicago, Boston, and Chattanooga. Notable brands include BMW, Land Rover, and Kahlua.
